Details
THORNTON WATLASS THE GREEN SE 28 NW (west side, off) 3/109 The Old Rectory - II House. Mid C18 with early C19 additions. Rubblestone, rendered, with graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays, the 2 bays set back to left the earlier part. Half-glazed door in stone architrave with frieze, cornice and pediment between bays 1 and 2. Bays 1 and 3 have canted bay windows with stone cills, central 16-pane sashes and 8-pane sashes to sides, the one in bay 1 with a cornice, the one in bay 3 with a hipped roof. All other windows are sashes with glazing bars and stone cills; those in bays 4 and 5 having segmental arches. Shaped kneelers and stone coping. Roof hipped between bays 2 and 3. End stacks and ridge stacks.
