Plague Cross
II
Cross base, with later milestone inscription, and adjoining stone trough for
disinfected water. Stone. Octagonal shaft on low chamfered plinth. Traditionally
connected with the plague of 1604 when it is said to have been a place of barter
outside the village where food would be left and money deposited in the trough.
