Details
KIRK BRAMWITH LOW LANE SE 61 SW 6/64 Drain Bridge II
Bridge. Probably late C18. Ashlar and rock-faced sandstone and limestone. Single span with segmental arch rising from vertical abutment walls. Coped parapet walls ramp down to continue as splayed wing walls which terminate in rounded end piers. Down-stream side of bridge reinforced and altered, the abutment wall arrises have hollow recesses for a lock structure (no longer present) to regulate the flow between Bramwith Drain and Kirk Bramwith New Cut.
