Details
SHIPDHAM CHURCH CLOSE TF 9507 (south side) 14/87 Shrub House GV II Dwelling and former shop. Probably C17 with a C19 addition. Rendered timber frame, colourwashed brick extension. Black and red pantile roofs. L plan formed by early C19 addition. Staircase tower in re-entrant angle of L. One and a half storeys. C19 shop front on corner with glazed door flanked by 3-light mullion and transom shop windows. Plain fascias. 2 C19 2-light casement windows on Mill Road facade. One sash window with glazing bars on north gable-end. Extension with a raised and fielded panelled door, one window with glazing bars and overhanging eaves with paired and shaped brackets. Interesting fenestration to rear facade including.a semicircular headed window with glazing bars in staircase tower, some C18 metal casements with leaded glazing and one sash window with glazing bars beneath a skewback arch.
