Details

BARRINGTON THE GREEN, SP 2012-2112 Little Barrington Village 11/89 The Smithy (formerly listed as part of Nos 69-71) 23.1.52 GV II House in row, formerly part of a larger house (q.v. Spring Hill Cottage). C16-mid C17. Coursed squared and dressed limestone stone slate roof. Ashlar stacks. Rectangular plan. Moulded plinth. Two-storey, 2-windowed facade. One 2-light stone- mullioned window with 4-centred arched heads to each light upper left, fenestration otherwise 2 and 3-light hollow-chamfered stone- mullioned casements. Stopped hoods to the ground floor windows. C20 plank door with leaded panes at top off-centre right set back within a porch with a flat-chamfered 4-centred arched entrance with stopped hood. Two narrow stone seats within porch. Saddleback coping and moulded kneeler at the right gable end. Twin axial stack with moulded capping and skirting, stump of a gable-end stack. Interior not inspected.
