FREETHORPE THE GREEN (west) TG 40 NW 4/41 Lyndale and The Cottage G.V. II Pair of estate cottages, late C19, of red brick with gault brick dressings and slate roof. Double fronted of 1½ storeys, with open single storey lean-to porch between the projecting gabled wings. C20 flat roofed extension at rear, One windowed gabled wings face road with single gabled dormer between. Original entrance doors under porch to north and south now blocked and new doors inserted in C20, facing road. Northern house has 2-light windows with wrought iron casements and glazing bars. 2 gabled dormers, each side to north and south. Single light casements in dormers with hood moulds. Southern house windows replaced with C20 standard joinery. 2 axial stacks at intersections of cross wings. Each has 3 diagonally set square chimney shafts. Wavy barge- boards. V.W. monogram north and south for Vade-Walpole. Included for group value.
