TODENHAM MAIN STREET SP 23 NW (south side)

1/177 Downbank Farmhouse (formerly listed as House 60 yards S. of Farrier's Arms Inn) 21.8.60 II Detached farmhouse. Late C17 - C18 with C19 extensions. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, concrete tile roof, brick stacks on ashlar stumps, corrugated iron roof far left, slate roof far right. Rectangular main body with C19 extensions attached to right and left gable ends. Main body: 2 storeys, 3-windowed, 2 and 3-light double chamfered stone mullioned casements, central plank door in flat-chamfered surround. Gable end stacks and flat gable end coping. Stone with loft over attached left with plank door lower right, stone steps up to stable type door with timber-clad gable over. C20 two-light casement lower left. Single storey extension far left. 1 1/2 storey. Stone right of main body. Interior of main body: inglenook fireplace with bressumer beam.
