SOUTH STREET 1. 1625 (North-East Side) Lodbourne Hall ST 6416 2/398 II GV 2. Mid to later C19. 2 storey 4 window bay front. Slate gabled roof with stone coping; ashlar flanking stacks. Ashlar front. Pierced panel parapet. Stone cornice with modillions; ovolo course; narrow string to first floor. 4 sash windows without glazing bars on first floor. On ground floor from left to right hand, a 5-light bay window with modillion cornice and blocking course occupies the width of 2 first floor window bays; in 3rd bay, ornate ashlar prostyle porch with rusticated Doric columns, round-headed doorway also flanked by pilaster and with mask head keystone; plain fanlight; 6- panelled door. In 4th bay at right hand end sash window without glazing bars. Left hand return to Lodbourne Hall has gable end of 2 storeys, 2 window bays. Rear wing to north is lower. Parapet with capping.
Nos 1 to 8 (consec), Duck House including garden wall and railings, Gainsborough House including Dwarf wall, railings and gate, outbuilding to south of Gainsborough House, gate piers to the Old Bidewell, The Antique Shop, Lodbourne Hall, Ye Olde Cottage including garden walls and railings form a group.
