Details

EASTINGTON MILLEND SO 7805 13/64 Brookhill House and Meadow Cottage GV II Former mill owners' house with gable end to street, now divided into 2 with C20 enlargement to Meadow Cottage not of special interest. Probably early C18. Brick, tile roof, brick end stacks with rebuilt square flue set diagonally into large right end stack. Single range of 2 storeys with attic in gable end, with small additional wing to Brookhill House of single storey and attic set back on right hand side with C19 rear lean-to extending across to projecting gabled 3-storey wing over original entrance. Meadow Cottage has C20 extension to rear and front. South side has 3 windows, varying 2-light casements with splayed brick flat arches, window to far right with arched lights and Gothick leading. Two- brick string below and large paired casement to right on ground floor. Right hand gable end has bricked up oval light, unused plank door. Entrance now through rear lean-to. Interior of Brookhill House has wood newel stair on south side behind rear projecting section, and chamfered and stopped beams on both floors.
