Details

STODY THE GREEN, HUNWORTH. TG 03 NE 2/98 Green Farm House II

House, early C17 with later additions and alterations. Rendered and colour washed. Hipped roof of black unglazed pantiles. L plan. 3 windows, 4 bays, 2 storeys. Wide off-centre door of 6 panels in moulded doorcase with shallow pedimented canopy. Window above in colour washed brick with 2 ovolo moulded brick mullions, similar openings are totally hidden by rendering. Two 3-light casements with glazing bars to each floor, those to ground floor with transoms. Central axial stack rendered. Right return wall rendered and scored; to each floor one 16 pane sash window with glazing bars. Rendered eaves platband; return wall to left rendered and scored. Late C18 rear wing to right: 3 bays, 1½ storeys, brick dressed flint under pantiles. Dog tooth cornice. 2 double casements with glazing bars to ground floor under segmental heads. 3 early 2-light casements to upper floor with glazing bars and leaded panes, original casement with pintle hinges and leaded panes to rear of wing. Many additions to rear, of C19 and C20. Interior of main range: central stack enclosed. Decorative bar stops to chamfered beams in ground floor to left and right. Ovolo moulded beams to left room.
