Farm barn. C.1800. Attributable to Samuel Wyatt, architect, for the Holkham Estate. Flint, gault brick, red pantiles. 3 3-stead threshing barns end to end in one build of 9 bays. 2 storey external elevation. Each of 3 barns has tripartite elevation with central opposed cart entrances with brick rustication, segmental arches with plastered tympanums supported by lintels over boarded cart doors. Flanking arched head windows with brick rusticated surrounds. First floor plat-band with round arch lunettes, all openings originally with brick honeycomb ventilation infill, many now blocked. Brick corbelled eaves with dentils. Brick rusticated end quoins. West gable has massive plinth dictated by sloping site. storey elevation with ground, first and attic level plat-bands. One ground floor arched window, 2 upper round arched lunettes, all with original honeycomb brick ventilation infill, rusticated quoins.
On axis with Compton Hall Farmhouse to south, enclosing north side of symmetrical model farm layout.
