Details
ST 30 SE THORNCOMBE HEWOOD 3/52 Hewood Farmhouse 4.12.51 GV II Farmhouse C16 or C17. Rubble walls, plastered and washed. Thatch roof. Three brick stacks, one at each gable and one just left of door. Two storeys, 5 casements: wooden frames with some leaded lights. Lower right hand end is possibly the byre, and the centre may contain the original hall now floored. Source R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p. 248(33).
