Details
HIGH STREET 1. 5193 (west side) Church House SZ 0099 NE 2/57 II GV 2. Dated 1905 on weathervane. Adjoins the Minster and was designed to harmonize with it, in a free Gothic style. Stone walls, a mixture of limestone and ironstone, as in the Minster. Roofs concealed behind parapet. Two storeys. Elevation to High Street has an arched doorway in a square frame, and a mullioned window with lead lights on the ground floor. First floor has a Gothic style window with 4 centred arched head, and lead lights. Elevation to churchyard has, on the ground floor, 3 large mullioned windows, and 5 similar windows on the first floor, all with lead lights. Moulded string courses at first floor level and at base of parapet. Commemorative inscription on stone in front wall. Ornamental iron railings to churchyard. Included for group value with Minster.
