COLD ASTON alias MAIN STREET SP 11 NW ASTON BLANK (north side) 6/12 Cold Aston Lodge (formerly listed as 3 items No 5, No 6 and No 7) 23.1.52 GV II Formerly 3 cottages now one house. Early C18 and C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Main body 'L'-shaped with later, probably C19, single bay extension to right gable end. Main body; 1 1/2 storeys, upper floor with two probably C19 roof dormers lit by 2-light stone-mullioned casements with horizontal glazing bars. Single early C18 gable dormer right lit by 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with stopped hood. Three-light double-chamfered stone- mullioned casement with stopped hood to ground floor below. Three- light C19 casement left of C20 door with flat stone canopy with moulded margin and moulded stone corbels. Single bay extension right; 1½ storeys with 2-light dormer from eaves. Extension at rear of main body, 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement in left-hand wall. C19 half dormers with 2-light stone- mullioned casements in right-hand wall. Two and 3-light steel casements and single canted bay to ground floor. Interior not inspected.
