DIDMARTON THE STREET ST 8287 (south side) 15/80 The Old Manor Farmhouse GV II

Former farmhouse, detached. Early/mid C18, enlarged late C18/early C19 to rear. Roughcast faced on rubble stone, stone slate roof, ashlar end stacks. Original main range of 2 storeys and attic with lean-to on left, extended to rear with 2-storey range split off- centre into 2 opposing hips, with single-storey wing to rear on left, and small wing to right probably originally a farm office. Five windows, 2-light wood mullions with glazing bar casements and ventilators. Four similar to ground floor with central panelled stone doorcase and open pediment on scroll brackets with 6-panel door, top 2 glazed, rest fielded. Paired casements to left hand lean-to, and 12-pane sash in former office with second stone doorcase in angle, projecting with flat top and possibly renewed 6- panel door. Gabled dormers to rear roof slope. Rear fenestration all of C20. Interior has stick baluster stair with ramped handrail in front range and 2 reeded doorcases inserted after or at time of construction of rear range.
