8/200 Unidentified memorial, about 14m south of north west gate in churchyard of Church of St. Mary
II*
Very large and elaborate sarcophagus tomb. Mid C18. Limestone. Tall double-stepped base with tall moulded plinth and gadrooned acanthus carved sarcophagus with bellied profile and remains of paired cherub heads in centre of each long side. Above is second moulded plinth with 2 Corinthian half-capitals back to back against plain inscription panels, now completely eroded. Originally at the top an 8-point gadrooned finial, lying on the north side of the base at the time of survey (October 1984). Base breaking up badly.
