5/24 Nos 1, 2 and 3 Hungerford Cottages
II
Row of three cottages (probably built at 3 different times). Late
C18 and C19. Random limestone with dressed quoins, stone slate
roof to main body, artificial slate roof to C19 extension, ashlar
stacks. Long rectangular plan with single bay C19 extension to
right gable end. C20 extensions at rear not of special interest.
Main body 2 storeys and attic. Five-windowed facade all 2 and 3-
light stone-mullioned casements mostly with horizontal glazing
bars. No 1 (left) with C20 gabled porch. C20 fielded 6-panel door
at front of porch, glazed door within. Two single-light windows
with flat-chamfered stone surrounds to left gable end. No 2; with
C19 plank door with dressed stone surround, flat canopy and
consoles. No 3 central plank door with decorative strap hinges.
Part-glazed door within a segmental-headed surround to C19
extension right. Single light within segmental-headed surround
right. Two-light casement above. Gable end and axial stacks.
Interiors not inspected.
