Details

ACKLINGTON GUYZANCE NU 20 SW 7/20 Mill House, with barn to south II

House and barn. House second half of C17, extended to north in later C19; barn C18. Older part of house large roughly-squared stone with cut dressings, rendered at rear; extension snecked stone with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings; barn rubble with. tooled-and-margined quoins. Older part of house has renewed pantile roof, extension Welsh slates and barn old pantiles; rendered brick stacks.

House 2 storeys, 3 + 2 bays. Older left part has central 9-pane casement set in older moulded doorway with flat-pointed head and sunk spandrels; 12-pane Yorkshire sash to left and 4-pane vertical sash to right; small 9-pane casements above, close beneath eaves. All windows with slightly-projecting sills. Coped left gable and left end stack. Taller extension to right has renewed door with plain overlight in left bay and 4-pane sashes, all in alternating-block surrounds; coped gables with end stacks. Lower barn to left shows boarded door and part-slatted window; coped left end gable. Left return shows boarded door in tooled-and-margined alternating-block surround.
