Details
LONGHORSLEY LONGHORSLEY NZ 19 SW 5/83 Church of St. Helen 20.10.69. GV II Former School, now Parish Church. Squared stone with ashlar dressings, slate roof. 'T' plan. 1 storey. South elevation: 2-bay left section has boarded door under 4-centred arch; and outshut. Projecting right bay has 3-light mullion-and-transom window with hoodmould, flanked by smaller inserted windows, under coped gable with kneelers. Left section has projecting porch of 1783, brought from the old parish church (q.v.) in 1982; pointed arch with hollow- chamfered hood, flanked by small diagonal buttresses. Gable behind is coped with moulded kneelers and ball finial; to right, end of outshut has 6-pane casement in re-set C16 or C17 chamfered stone surround.
