CORNHILL-ON-TWEED A 698 NT 84 SE (South side) 4/26 Twin lodges and gatepiers to Tillmouth Park 22.12.69 Hotel II

Pair of gate lodges and gateway. Early C19. Ashlar with Welsh slate roofs. Gothick style. Two single-storey lodges flanking gateway. Tall square corniced piers with Gothick panels and quatrefoils in the friezes. Flanked by castellated end walls of lodges, each 2 bays with 2-light mullioned windows under hoodmoulds. Each merlon of the castellations has 2 blank cusped panels. Similar end piers.

Front of lodges: 4 bays with panelled door in 3rd bay and 2-light mullioned windows under hoodmoulds. Similar castellated parapets.
