7/89 Bilton House

GV II

House. Second quarter of C19. Squared tooled stone, rendered to rear; Welsh slate roof. Entrance (east) front: Main block 2 storeys, 3 bays. Plinth. Central flat-topped porch has 3 steps up to flush-panelled door on left return, with Percy crescent on parapet above; narrow 8-pane sash in front wall; band below moulded parapet. 12-pane sash windows, some renewed, with slightly-projecting sills. Eaves cornice on paired stone brackets. Hipped roof with banded ridge stack, with render tooled to simulate ashlar. To right is single-storey 2-bay wing with 12-pane sashes; boarded door and 4-pane casement on right return. 4-bay south front of main block shows similar fenestration. East elevation 2 wide bays; 12-pane sashes except for C20 window ground floor left. Rear elevation shows arched stair window holding 12-pane sash with radial head.
