Details
CASTLETON SHERBORNE CASTLE ST 6416 Dairy, immediately 12/29 north-west of Sherborne Castle 11.7.51 II* GV Dairy, forming vestibule of C20 structure. Late C18, in Gothick style. Ashlar stone walls - slate pyrammidal roof. One storey. 3 bays. The arcaded north front has clustered columns and an embattled and pinnacled parapet. Doorway at centre. Interior: counters and shelves of late C18 date painted green and white. Reset in the floor is part of a Roman pavement from Lenthay Common. (RCHM Dorset I, p.69(5))
