11/139 The Old Court House, 11.7.51 including front boundary walls.

GV II

Detached house. Mid-late C17, with later C17 or C18 extension at right end. Rubble stone walls, with some remains of old plaster, and ashlar quoins and dressings. Tiled roof with coped gables, 2 brick stacks on ridge, one being at front of gabled projection. L-shaped plan with projecting wing at left end, this with shaped finial. 2 storeys. Porch in angle of 2 copings; with lean-to roof. Original ledged door in moulded frame, in 4-centred arched opening. In left gable wall, one single-light window with moulded surround ' and hoodmould, at mezzanine level. Right side wall of wing has, on ground floor, one circular window and one 4-light stone mullioned window with hoodmould. Similar 3-light window on first floor. In main range parallel to road, ground floor has one similar 4-light window and one single-light window. First floor has one 2-light and one 3-light similar window. All windows have casements with centre horizontal bar. Various C20 rear additions. Internally, front ground floor room in wing has C18 moulded panelling. Plank and muntin partitions on ground and first floor. Some chamfered and some moulded ceiling beams. Front boundary wall of rubble stone, with flat coping.
