GV II
Headstone, 1709. Sandstone. Swept segmental top with relief carving of naturalistic death's head with scallop shell and drapery above, and book with self-swallowing serpent and scythe below. Inscription below to Thomas Maxnil and other members of Maxnil family, continued on reverse.
Unusually good quality masoncraft for the date.
