GV II

3 cottages. Part of late C18 planned village development by Sir Edward Swinburne who died in 1786. Dressed stone with graduated Lakeland slate roof. Single storey, 10 bays. 3 boarded doors. Nos. 7 and 8 have Yorkshire sash windows. No. 6 has C20 windows. Band above windows. Paired wood brackets support widely-overhanging eaves. Corniced ridge and end stacks.

Interior: each room was built with a transverse, brick, segmental vault. These are mostly now obscured by false ceilings.
