Farmhouse. C17 or earlier, enlarged early C18, altered early and mid-C19, C20. Front, towards church, English garden wall bond brickwork; wing to right brick-nogged timber framing. Rubble stone to part of rear wall front section and side of rear wing, otherwise brickwork of various dates. Front roofs slate, rest tiled. Irregular 'T'-plan, top 3-bay front, 2½ storeys, lower extensions; stem 5-bays, 2 storeys, enlarged on one side. Main facade facing church: C20 single-storey hipped porch in centre, tiled roof, panelled door. Sixteen-pane sash each side, cambered brick arch. C19 single-storey hipped porch added to right, French doors. Slightly set back on right 1½ storey timber-framed wing; in front short single-storey brick extension, 16-pane sash, parapet above, up to garden wall only. 1984 single-storey extension to front on left. First floor 16-pane sash each end, cambered brick arch, narrow 12-pane centre. Plain brick gable chimneys at ridge, one at rear left half. Internally, section facing church; dogleg stairs in centre, square newels, moulded handrail, sinuous splat balusters; extended to attics to match, and ground floor doors renewed, mid C20; door on left incorporates medieval panels. First room, ground floor, rear wing heavy chamfer to ceiling beams (C17); timber framing survives to cross wall and 2 former external walls to 2 bays beyond. Large external chimney engulfed in c1940 extension at end. Brick extension towards farmyard added c1870. Forms group with Church of St. Mary (q.v.).
