Folly Farm
II
Farmhouse, now house. Early C17, extended late C18, and c1930. Part
timber framed with painted brick infill, part brick; old tile gabled
roof, half hipped at rear of C17 part. L-plan with 2 framed extensions
at rear. 2 storeys and cellar. One small chimney on ridge near centre and 2
similar on rear roof slope on left and right. 6 bay front, originally
3 bays. Brick dentilled eaves course; sash windows with glazing bars.
4 double height canted bays with dentilled eaves carried round in wood.
One bay sash windows between third and fourth bays; 2 panelled door placed
centrally below, with flat hood, planked soffite, dentilled frieze and large
carved brackets. Interior:- timber frame exposed at rear in C17 part,
together with large fireplace and bread oven, now covered.
