18/129 Hunter's Cottages
GV II
Cottage and outbuilding, formerly cottage, byre and stable. C17 or early C18. Random rubble, dressed stone quoins and door surround, pantiled roof. Single storey. An old linear farm with cottage on right and range of lower farm- buildings to left. Cottage is 2 bays with door in alternating-block surround and 12-pane sash to right. Left of cottage is byre with small C20 window and large double doors. Stable at left has plank door and one window. Blocked door on right return.
Cottage roof is steeply pitched and has reverse crow-stepped gable.
A rare survival in this area of an earlier farm type.
