MELBURY OSMOND ST 5707 TOWN'S END 8/111 Chapel Cottage, 11.11.66 (formerly listed as Brethren's Meeting House and Chapel Cottage) GV II Cottage, with former Meeting House of Plymouth Brethren attached. Early C19, with C20 refenestration. Rubble-stone walls. Thatch roof with gable ends, and two stone-coped gables (parallel ridges) at south end. Brick stack on rear south gable. 1 1/2 storeys. 5 windows, 2-light C20 stone mullions, with C20 metal casements. Right of these 3 windows, two fall windows, cross- transomed with segmental heads, light former Meeting House. Plank door, left of centre, C20. Rear wall has 2- and 3-light stone mullions with separate labels reused and C20 lead lights. Rear entrance, C20 door, glazed. (RCHM. Dorset I, p.160(9))
