Details
WARGRAVE HOLLY CROSS SU 78 SE 1/36 Fox Steep II House. 1924. Oliver Hill. Boarded with wavey-edged elm, elm vee-boxed eaves and elm boxed rainwater downpipes. Old tiled roof gabled and hipped at differing levels, old brick flanking chimneys stepped back in 3 and 4 stages. Plan irregular. 2 storeys and attic. Entrance front: centre part 3 bays of leaded casements, bay on right 3-light, remainder 4-light. Planked and studded square headed heavy door in centre under flat hood with moulded cornice on plain curved brackets, 4-light casement over on upper floor; On right of this, a recessed 2-storey part with roof swept down in part to one storey with 4-light casement. To left a small storey with pent roof and behind this a cross gabled 2-storey end of return to north west front. B.O.E. Berkshire p.258. M.
