21/106 Corn Mill Farmhouse and adjacent farmbuildings
GV II
House, former Inn, with former mill adjacent to north-west and barns to south- east. House early Cl9 incorporating earlier fabric, mill early C19, barns later C19. Rubble, some stone dressings. Roofs: house slate, with stone gable stacks; barns slate; mill stone slate with stone gable stacks. Front elevation: house 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Central boarded door with overlight, flanked by renewed sashes; 1st floor 12-pane sashes. Taller 3- storey mill to right has various openings, including boarded stable door under 3-pane overlight and boarded loading doors to 1st and 2nd floors; lower section to right was former wheel-house. Lower barn to left has various openings including slit vents; boarded door with heavy irregular dressings in earlier section adjacent to house. Left return has 1st floor loading door. Rear elevation: house has irregular fenestration, C20 glazed door under overlight flanked by 12-pane sashes; 3 similar sashes to 1st floor. Mill to left has boarded door with alternating jambs, barred window to former mill office on right. Lower wheel-house section to left has bricked-up opening where former head-race entered above the overshot wheel. Interior of mill altered; interior of house: 1 late C17 or early C18 ground floor fireplace has corbelled-out lintel with narrow chamfer.
