Chapel (R.C.) 1854 by Joseph A. Hansom. Tooled-and-margined stone with ashlar dressings; green slate roof. Rectangular plan with transeptal south vestry, tower in angle between vestry and nave, south porch. Free Decorated style. South elevation: chamfered plinth with string above and sill string, stepped buttresses with gabled heads and sunk trefoiled panels. Porch with moulded arch and ornate gable cross, to right two 3-light windows and projecting tower, octagonal on square base; quatrefoil loops to stair, upper stage with openwork quatrefoil lattice and clockfaces on raised panels; octagonal stone spire with trefoiled lucarnes. Vestry gable has string stepped over 3-light window with quatrefoiled round window above; 2-light window on south of sanctuary and 4-light east window. West end has string stepped over 3 trefoil-headed windows and round window with quatrefoils above. Coped gables with carved kneelers. Interior: Recessed gallery on north with open 8-bay arcade of 2-light openings with foiled circles in heads; wooden gallery on west. Piscina and sedilia in sanctuary. Elaborate coffered and painted ceiling on angel corbels with Emblems of Passion. Contemporary stained glass.
