4/197 Martin Monument, about 7m north
west of porch in churchyard of
Church of St. Peter
GV II
Pedestal tomb. Late C18. Sandstone. Moulded curved pyramidal
cap with small pineapple finial, tall plinth on base in formerly
railed enclosure. Frieze with rosettes and fluted sections. Each
face has raised plain oval panel with draped leaf decoration. To
Martin family, earliest Samuel, 1795. Base partly breaking up at
time of survey (January 1986).
