7/128 Low Warden House and wall attached to rear

GV II

House. C17 refurbished later C18 and extended to rear early C19; reroofed with upper windows altered to hipped dormers early C19. Pebbledashed rubble with dressed quoins, flat tiled swept roof with stone copings and curved kneelers, end rendered-brick chimneys on stone bases. 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows. Central half-glazed door in early C19 flat surround with quarter-round moulding. Replaced sash windows with glazing bars in wood box frames under lintels with false voussoirs and true keystones; projecting stone sills. 3 hipped half dormers with 16-pane sashes breaking eaves. Original wing to left rear, early C19 outshut at rear of main block and a converted outbuilding range set back to right. Rear elevation shows 2 early C19 12-panelled sashes and door with oblong fanlight. Interior shows curved staircase with turned balusters and ramped handrail, closed string and panelled dado. Tall wall of coursed rubble on right side rear yard has flat coping and segmental carriage arch with cut voussoirs.
