Details

MORETON VALENCE A38, Putloe SO 70 NE (west side) 6/224 Yew Tree Farm House II Farmhouse on corner. Early C18, enlarged in late C18/early C19. Main range of random coursed stone faced in ashlar on 2 sides, later wing in brick. Hipped and sprocketed tile roof with pattern in tiles, moulded wood eaves, rebuilt brick stacks. Later wing with plain tile roof. Core of L-shape, 2 storeys, with later wing fitting into rear angle and projecting to north west. Front to A38 has 5 windows, replaced 2-light wood mullion and transoms with glazing bars, and stone keystone linked to plat band over ground floor windows. Central door of 6 panels, top 4 glazed, with large flush stone lintel. Right hand return elevation has 3 similar windows more widely spaced, with 2-light stone mullion at basement level on far left. Rear of this wing has possibly original wood mullion and transom on each floor with timber lintels. Brick wing has scattered fenestration, mostly cambered head casements.
