FEATHERSTONE WYDON EALS NY 66 SE 15/106 Farmbuildings on 24/11/67 west return of Wydon Eals Farmhouse, enclosing 3 sides of farmyard GV II
Farmbuildings, now loose-boxes and storage. Late C18-early C19 of several builds. Coursed and squared rubble with dressings. Shelter shed has Welsh slate roof; other buildings have corrugated-asbestos roofs. Buildings enclose 3 sides of a large square-plan farmyard. 2-storey, 2-bay south range on west return of farmhouse has blocked doorway, 2 blocked windows under eaves and roof hipped at west. 2-storey, 8-bay west range: double row of breathers, tall elliptical archway and C20 opening on outer face; scattered breathers, 2 doorways with alternating jambs and external stone stairway facing yard; roof hipped at north. North range of 2 builds: 2-storey, 3-bay shelter sheds with loft over; single-storey, 2-bay hemmel on south. Shelter shed: 2 elliptical arches, doorway and external stone stairway on ground floor facing yard; boarded door and 2 square openings above; low-pitched roof. Hemmel has 2 wide segmental arches facing yard. Included for group value.
