HARBOTTLE THE PEELS Stable and granary c.10 yards north of The Peels Farmhouse

GV II

Stables with granary over. Late C17 or early C18, altered early C19. Random rubble with Welsh slate and corrugated iron roofs.

2 storeys with single-storey section to left.

2 storey section: 2 boarded doors in C18 alternating-block surrounds. 2 ground- floor windows have recessed chamfered surrounds formerly with mullions.

On 1st floor 4 small slatted windows to granary.

Single-storey section has walls c. 3 ft. thick. Old masonry in lower courses. 2 doorways, with boarded doors. Doorway to left has slight chamfer and harr-hung door.

To rear, outside stone steps lead to boarded granary door under gablet.
