13/98 The Vicarage

GV II

Vicarage. 1879 for Rev. Dodds. Snecked stone with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roof. Early C18 style.

L-plan with second span filling angle of L. 2 storeys, 3 bays.

3 moulded semi-circular steps up to 2-panelled door with overlight in bolection- moulded surround with keystone. Tripartite ground floor windows in architraves with keystones. 8- and 4-pane sashes with thick glazing bars. 8-pane sashes in architraves on 1st floor.

Steeply-pitched roof with kneelers and flat coping. One ridge stack, and one external stack on right gable.

Bay window on left return. 8-pane sashes in architraves elsewhere.

Interior has 3-storey, open-well stair with turned balusters and newels in early C18 style. Also 2-panelled doors.
