MELKRIDGE B 6318 NY 76 NW (North side, off) 12/61 Hadrian's Wall, 24/11/67 milecastle and turret I

Hadrian's Wall; milecastle 41 and turret 40B. AD 122, reconstructed AD 205. Rubble core with dressed stone faces. Course of wall runs west from near Green Slack (NY 744767) to near Caw Gap (NY 726668). Several stretches of c.l.5-metre high wall masonry. Sites only of milecastle and turret. Scheduled Ancient Monument.
