8/1 Hill Farmhouse II

Farmhouse, now private house. C17 core, refaced early C18, C19 wings added both sides, remodelled C20. Timber-frame with brick encasing and additions, plain and fishscale tile roof. 3 bay timber-frame refronted early C18 with early C19 parallel range added to rear and late C19 wing added to front on left half. Front L-shaped at right bay of early C18 brickwork, 2½ storeys, to left projecting C19 2 bay wing, 1½ storeys. Earlier brickwork English bond. Right gable end has 2 C18 segmental headed cross windows with gauged brick arches. 1st floor string and early C19 2-light wrought iron casement with segmental headed gauged brick arch with tie plates either side. In gable small similar window. Right part of front has in centre C20 door in original C18 door opening with C20 segmental headed 2-light casement to right. 1st floor string and above early C19 2-light wrought iron casement. Left wing has C20 2-light casement either side of wide french windows and C19 3-light casement in sloping dormer above. Roofs half-hipped.
