HANLEY CASTLE CP Brewhouse approximately 50 metres north of Severn End

GV II Brew house and malt house. 1681. Brick in English bond with hipped tile roof. Mainly two storeys. On the ground floor there is a doorway with a wider doorway to its right. Both have timber lintels under segmental brick arches. On the first floor are six windows with segmental heads, of two lights with timber mullion and diamond leading. Brick dentil course at eaves. Truncated chimney against right-hand (south) wall.

Interior: said to contain a well. The diary of Sir Nicholas Lechmere records the building of a brewhouse and malthouse at Severn End in 1681.
