15/44 No 12(The Inn on the Furlong) 12.7.78 II

Public house. Late C17, remodelled c1825, front altered c1867, restored 1985. Brick, painted, and rendered to front, old plain tile roof, slate roof to front range. 2 storey and attic, L-plan of 3 bay front and 2 bay wing to rear at one end, and thinner 2 storey bay added to that end, as well as additions to side of wing. Front has central square plan porch with rustications and round-headed opening with vermiculated keystone. Over and in RH bay C19 sashes with narrow-edge panes. To LH bay 2 storey cented bay with similar sashes to front and narrow sashes on sides. Raised rusticated quoins. Timber paired-bracketted eaves cornice. End stacks. LH added bay has C20 3-light window and fanlight under cambered arch.
