SU 4225 HURSLEY A3090 (West Side) Nos 97&97A (formerly listed under 10/28 Hursley) 5/12/55 GV II

House, now 2 cottages. C16 altered C18. Timber-frame with plaster infill, old plain tile roof. Jettied 3 bay timber-frame, 2 storey. Original 3- centred arch doorway at inner end of right bay and planked door with strap hinges. Jetty to rest of bay filled in, and early C19 3-light cast iron casement inserted. Centre bay has C17 3-light leaded oriel window on single bracket and jetty at slightly higher level. Left bay has C19 shop front under jetty of 4-light casement with shuttering and door beside, this bay now No. 97. Jetty supported on plain brackets. On 1st floor 1, 2 or 3-light cast iron casements with lozenge panes. Roof dips down to lower ridge for left bay. Ridge stack to left of door. Medieval ridge tiles.
