Details
WORMSLEY CP - SO 44 NW 4/87 The Knoll
GV II House. Probably late C17 or early C18 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble with tile roof and brick ridge stacks. Brick south gable. Rectangular four-bay plan aligned roughly north/south. Two storeys. West elevation has four windows, 2-light early or mid-C19 leaded casements. Ground floor has two early C20 casements, each of four lights. Central door in gabled porch. East elevation has full-length lean-to extension, possibly early C20. Interior has heavy stop-chamfered ceiling beams. Oak floor boards. Trusses have raking struts. Casement to right of centre on west side has iron handle in the form of a hand holding a scroll.
