5/43 Garden walls and 6.2.68 gatepiers to front of Maulds Meaburn Hall
GV II*
Garden walls and gatepiers. Probably c.1676 when Hall was extended for Lowther family. Drystone walls of coursed, squared rubble with chamfered copings; c.6 ft high. Gate piers opposite front entrance to house are of rusticated stone blocks. Square in plan, c.12 ft high overall. Scrolled decoration to plinth block; deeply moulded cap surmounted by ball finial.
