SP 9432-9532 WOBURN GEORGE STREET (West side) 9/116 22.10.52 The Royal Oak Public House GV II Public house. C17 origins, reworked C18 and C19. Colourwashed brick, apparently partially recasing and partially replacing timber framed structure. Thatched roofs to central and LH parts, clay tile roof to RH part. Consists of 3 distinct sections, probably formerly separate properties. Central part of one storey and attics, outer parts of 2 storeys. Variety of casement windows, mostly of 2 lights, with glazing bars. 3 to ground floor, 4 to first floor, central 2 being dormers. 2 part-glazed doors, one to LH, other to central section. Variety of ridge and gable end chimney stacks. Small flat-roofed addition to LH gable end.
