Details

SP 9433-9533 WOBURN LEIGHTON STREET (north side) 8/118 No 4 - GV II House. C18 refronting of an earlier, probably C17, building. Vitrified header bond with red brick dressings, possibly containing a timber framed structure. C20 tile roof. 3-bay plan, 2 storeys and attics. Rather irregular fenest- ration. Ground floor has 2 sashes with glazing bars under slightly cambered gauged brick heads, and early C19 canted bay to right hand containing sashes with glazing bars and moulded frames. First floor has 4 sashes with glazing bars and a blind window to right hand. Frames of sashes are almost flush with wall. Attic has one small hipped dormer. Blocked doorway between 2 left hand bays. Doorway between 2 right hand bays approached by 2 stone steps. Door of 6 moulded panels in moulded surround, surmounted by flat bracketed hood. This is in line with red brick double ridge stack. To right hand end is plank door surmounted by wooden trellis grille within moulded surround. This gives onto passageway through to rear of property.
