SW 7525 MANACCAN HELFORD

7/73 Crane Cottage(South of Riverside) - GV II

House. Circa early C19 remodelling of earlier house. Painted and rendered rubble and cob walls; slate sills. Asbestos slate roof with brick chimneys over gable ends. Cast iron ogee gutters. Plan of 3 rooms originally with cross passage between left-hand room and middle room, and external stair behind middle room. Built against steep bank at rear. Thick walls. 2 storeys. Slightly irregular 3-window west front with circa early C19 12-pane 2- light horizontal sliding sashes to first floor. 3 C20 2-light casements to ground floor. Doorway within C20 conservatory between left-hand and middle windows. Interior has some early C19 panelled doors and stick baluster stair. The original fireplaces are partly blocked. One of a group of fairly unaltered houses at the head of the creek at Helford.
