Details
ALTARNUN ALTARNUN SX 28 SW 4/76 Penpont Mill - GV II
House. Probably C17. Rendered and painted stone rubble. Rag slate roof with half hipped end on left and gable end on right. Brick shaft to axial stack to left of centre and brick shaft to end stack on right. Plan: 3 room and cross or through passage plan with entrance to right of centre. Room on right hand side heated by end stack. Room on left of passage heated by axial stack and inner room beyond to left unheated. Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front. C20 door to right of centre flanked by two 2-light casements with C19 6-pane sash and C20 door to far left. First floor has C19 6-pane sash and two C19 12-pane sashes. Interior: Not inspected. Birthplace of Nevil Northey Burnard, sculptor (1818-1878), qv Chygrysys.
