EGTON WITH NEWLAND SD 28 SE 13/86 Newland Bottom Mill 25.3.70 II
Mill and attached house. Datestone reads: "WILLIAM BURROW 1712"; later alterations. Roughcast stone rubble, part exposed, slate roofs. South elevation of 2 storeys; 3-bays wider gable with wing to west, house of 3 storeys built into side of hill, which has 3-storey wing to north. South elevation has small-paned casements and plank doors and loading door; 2 casements in wing, which has cross-axial stack. West elevation has 2 gabled wings with lean-to outshut to north, plank doors and loading doors. House has C20 casement windows, small lean-to projection, entrances to basement and ground floor; gable-end stack. West elevation of north wing has segmental-headed window openings and entrance, lean-to bay to south return, east elevation of 2 bays, currently being renovated (1988). Some machinery remains.
